Apprenticeships get helping hand from DoCare
DoCare is taking part in a pilot scheme to promote apprenticeships.
We’ve joined up with Stroud District Council and South Gloucestershire & Stroud College to recruit a customer service apprentice. Our apprentice, Oliver Davis, will work for the council for three months and then join our team to gain live customer service experience for six months, before going back to the council for the final three months of the programme.
Oliver, and others who will join the scheme and work with different employers, will be able to train on the job, while spending time at the College to work towards for their qualifications.
Fiona Hammond, the council’s learning and development officer, said: “Apprentices can make a valuable contribution to a business, and the scheme is an innovative way to help young people experience the wider world of work.”
